We invite you to visit the Manchester Chinese Archive website in order to start the search for your British Chinese ancestors. We always believe to cherish your ancestor's love nothing better then build a small archive for them. You'll find many of the invaluable resources that we use in order to solve our community's research problems. However, we find the British Chinese archive information is very limited due to lack off funding and support.
The Manchester Chinese Archive Founded in 2000 and based in Manchester, North West by group of volunteers. Our aims are to document and illustrate the religious, organizational, social, economic, political, cultural and family life of British Chinese in Manchester since the nineteen century. It provides a research facility and an educational resource for the British Chinese, and also the wider community, in order to heighten awareness of the British Chinese heritage in North West and to stimulate study of the history of the Chinese Community in Britain.
All our work is totally relaying on volunteers, there is only so far we can go; but we could build this website up gradually if we could include you to support our work. Please sign in as our member. We needed all your help to make this website work. Anyone is welcome to contribute work or material. Material as: personal papers, war medals, ceremonial keys, newspapers, magazines, trophies, plaques, paintings and sculptures photographs, oral history recordings, party type……etc. Please send it by post or drop it in our Centre.
